D’amour fou… literally “crazy love”. The French have a word for everything.

Three songs will try to describe the essence of it. The first “Summer Here” explores the satisfying afterglow in reminiscing on the better moments of a failed love. Autumnal imagery as a metaphor in appreciating an end.

I’m certainly not one to say that I was born too late but I do feel like I enjoy writing songs in such a way they might seem … well…..” antiquated” The romantic approach is my nod to antiquity. Any ancestral formulas referenced from classical schooling are no more than muscle memory.

Piano, voice, and cello- real instruments, real emotion.

Summer here ends in a blaze of glory

and it always ends too soon

After working with Tiana on “If Only” then Random Numbers, I wanted to continue recording songs in the most essential way possible while deepening the lyrical content.  With the introduction of the cello - D’amour fou picks up where Random Numbers left off pursuing an ever more romantic approach to the music. Music thoughtfully written and authentically performed.

Marriage over, job lost. I’m back in VT from L.A It’s September.

Autumn becomes a metaphor; Summer, at its end best.

At the piano, leaves falling, monotone memories of a wife and times burst into color.

Notes forming chords bringing color to sound; trying to show the happiness in memories of something lost.

So grateful for finding both Tiana and Rebecca, they breathed life into this piece taking beyond my imagination and into such a rewarding reality
